National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization
CaringInfo, a program of the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization (NHPCO), is a national consumer and community engagement initiative to improve care at the end of life, supported by a grant from The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation. This organization provides free resources and information to help people make decisions about end-of-life care and services before a crisis occurs. They offer information for those planning ahead, those caring for a loved one, those grieving a loss, and professionals in the field.

The Natural Death Centre
Institute for Social Inventions
Established in 1993, The Natural Death Centre is a social, entrepreneurial, educational charity that gives free, impartial advice on all aspects of dying, bereavement and consumer rights. They give support on family-organised and environmentally friendly funerals, and we run the Association of Natural Burial Grounds. The website contains a nice collection of articles and links to additional resources.

Before I Die
Robert Wood
This is a supplement to the PBS special, 'Before I Die: Medical Care and Personal Choices' which premiered on April 22, 1997. The program explores the medical, ethical, and social issues surrounding end-of-life care in America today. This well-designed site provides real life stories and issues surrounding death. Videotapes of the show are available. The site is no longer being updated, but past information may still be useful.

Hospice Foundation of America
Hospice Foundation of America (HFA) provides education and information on hospice care. HFA produces a number of educational programs including a National Bereavment Teleconference called "Living with Grief" for bereaved families, and an education audiotape series for clergy members. The mission and workings of hospices are shown well, while providing decent links to varieties of hospice related sites.
